The Annual Member Meeting was held January 25, 2025, where the voting for your new board of directors was held.  The following members were elected, and at the end of the meeting the board positions were nominated, seconded, and voted to the following board positions.

The Briargate Community Improvement Association needs you to update your property owner information with a working email address.

Per Texas Property Code 209.0051 (f) – It is an owner’s duty to keep an updated e-mail address registered with the property owners’ association under Subsection (e)(2)(B).

We are asking you to update your information one of three ways:

1. Email your name, property address, mailing address if different from the property address, account number if you know it (can be found on your annual assessment), phone number and the email address you want to have on file to briargate2024@gmail.com
2. Come into the clubhouse (7002 Laughlin) Mon-Fri from 9am to 5pm or call during those hours and give the information to the Office Managers that answer the phone.
3. There will be space on the portion of your annual assessment that you return with payment, PLEASE FILL OUT THE EMAIL AND PHONE NUMBER INFORMATION ON THE RETURN PORTION OF YOUR 2025 ASSESSMENT TO UPDATE OUR RECORDS.

We, the members of the Briargate CIA Nominating Committee are soliciting people who are willing to run for the five (5) positions on the Briargate CIA Board. The current new board started in March 2024 and they have done a surprisingly good job in the short amount of time that they have had.

Some of the current board members have chosen not to run again. We need people who are willing to serve and attend meetings. We would like to have a board that represents our diverse population.

After names are submitted, we will ask for a short bio and a picture for each person. We are asking all potential nominees to be at the December 18, 2024 Briargate CIA Community monthly meeting to be introduced to the community.

Briargate Board of Directors is setting the deadline of December 20th, 2024 as the last date you can have your name submitted for it to be on the paper ballot/proxy.

We, the members of the Briargate CIA Elections Committee: Rose Duffie, Jayne Edwards, James Joseph, Felicia Lawal and Timothy Lilly would like to share some updates about our upcoming 2025 election:

• The Briargate CIA website will updated to reflect the upcoming election details; please use this link: www.BriargateCIA.org
• The election will be conducted using paper ballots open to all Briargate Homeowners.  Ballots will not be accepted at the Clubhouse, but must be returned to 2601 Cartwright Rd Suite D Mailbox #386 Missouri City TX 77459 as indicated on the ballot.
• Ballots can be submitted in person on election day.  The deadline to submit ballots to the PO Box will be Tuesday, January 21, 2025, After Tuesday, January 21, any remaining ballots must be handed in on election day.  Again no ballots will be accepted at the clubhouse.
• The ballot is being redesigned for ease of use.  A sample ballot will be reviewed during the December 18, 2024 Briargate CIA Community monthly meeting.
• The tabulation of votes will be conducted on Saturday, January 25, 2025 10:00AM. If you’d like more information, please send an email to BriargateElections@gmail.com.

The Briargate Community Association, Inc. is a non-profit corporation chartered under the laws of the State of Texas. Membership is mandatory and each owner automatically becomes a member of the Association upon acquiring a home in the Briargate Community. The Association is governed by the “Declaration of Covenants and Conditions” and operates according to the by-laws of the Association.

One of the major responsibilities of the Association is to protect your investment and enhance the value of your property. The sustained value of your home is of great interest to you.

The Community Association exists to establish, maintain, and enforce mutually beneficial restrictions. These restrictions are necessary for the purpose of protecting the value and desirability of all property within Briargate. If the Association functions well, it is our opinion that the lifestyle you have chosen and your property values will be maintained. Each homeowner is involved in the Association in some manner.

We encourage you to take an active role by serving on a committee. Success of your Community Association is dependent upon the involvement of homeowners such as you.
